My impression of Times Square is that it remains bigger in our minds than it actually is. In my first visit, I was somewhat disappointed since I had imagined it to be much bigger than it actually is. But loved the surroundings, specially the theaters in the neighbourhood.
Excellent choice. Reminds me of a favorite moment this year when my husband and I were among the people featured on the jumbotron! I took a photo of it with my iphone but it was kind of crappy. Still remember the thrill tho!!
All it takes is a half-way decent camera. I actually have better shots of Times Square, but I was going for “Vivid” here, since that was the challenge, and this was the most vivid of my shots.

Shaki, thanks for your comment. I think the theater district the best part. Times Square is the best on a Friday or Saturday night in good weather.
